Case Competition Team

by Frankie on November 29, 2009

Recently I was selected to represent the Graziadio School of Buisness Management in the 2010 John Molson International Case Competition. I will be competing with fellow classmates JC Garrett, Meghan Barnes, Rimas Silkaitis and alternate David Lederman.

The competition is held at the John Molson School of Business in Montreal. Last year’s first, second and third place finishers were from South Carolina, Helsinki and Dublin respectively, illustrating the diversity of programs which attend the event. I am deeply honored to represent my business school in the competition and hope to bring back The Concordia Cup in January!

With three hours to prepare, teams of four students analyze and evaluate unpublished business cases using the skills, knowledge and experience they have acquired from their respective MBA curricula. Students rely on their own abilities as they are without the aid of tools such as PowerPoint and the internet. The final product is a hand written presentation that demonstrates the students’ ability to dig into the problem and develop a feasible solution. Once preparation is complete, they present their strategic solutions and a detailed plan of action to a panel of senior business executives.
